      Daily Meditation Schedule

Monday through Thursday mornings:  5:30 AM to 7:00 AM

5:30 AM to 6:00 AM - Tea, chanting
6:00 AM to 6:05 AM - Walking meditation (kinhin)
6:05 AM to 6:30 AM - Sitting meditation (zazen)
6:30 AM to 6:35 AM - Kinhin
6:35 AM to 7:00 AM - Zazen (Thursday nitten soji/cleaning period)
Tuesday through Thursday evenings: 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Tuesday, Wednesday: Zazen
Thursday: Zazen, discussion group (A 25 minute period of zazen followed by a discussion / study group.  We have been studying the teishos of Kyozan Joshu Roshi.)
Sunday Schedule

Orientation -- 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
Instruction includes the various postures and breathing techniques used in sitting and walking meditation, as well as a basic explanation of Buddhist philosophy.
Sitting
9:30 AM to 10:00 AM - Zazen
10:00 AM to 10:10 AM - Kinhin (Walking meditation)
10:10 AM to 10:35 AM - Zazen
10:35 AM to 11:00 AM - Dharma Talk / Q & A, Zazen, Chanting

Please join us for coffee and tea afterward!
Participants need not stay for the entire schedule


In addition to a daily schedule, the Center offers many opportunities for training in Zen practice, including the rare treasure of studying with one of this century's most profound Zen Masters, Kyozan Joshu Sasaki Roshi.
  • Sesshins - Twice a year with Kyozan Joshu Sasaki Roshi (Roshi's health permitting)
